About me

Welcome.

Thinking about starting or resuming therapy can be difficult, I commend you on taking the step towards support.  I believe each individual brings their own experiences and perspectives to therapy.  Through collaboration, we can better understand how the cycles and thoughts that may cause you to feel stuck or experience distressed can be shifted to create change and inspire hope. My practise is client centered, and connection focused. I believe through creating a validating and safe space to process difficulties, important skills can be learned that will help create change in your life.

Areas of Focus

I work with couples as they navigate challenges such as communication, infidelity, anxiety and addiction.

Individuals

Working together one on one allows you to talk through situations and feelings that have caused you stress, anxiety, and to learn skills to manage the symptoms of trauma.

Sex Addiction

As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist – Supervisor, I offer support to folks through the difficult journey of recovery.  I work with partners, couples and individuals.

Couples

Strong and meaningful relationships are the cornerstone to our wellbeing. Trauma, unconscious behaviours, substance use or behavioural addiction, harmful attachments, and difficult communication can all lead to a breakdown in our healthy attachments, which impact the quality of our relationships. Working through these challenges together we can work towards healing attachments and rebuilding strong connections. In couples therapy we will strive to listen to each other’s stories, develop understanding, and repair fractured bonds.

LGBTQ+

Navigating the world as a Queer or Trans person can be challenging. Finding spaces in health-care and mental health that are sex, trans and queer affirming can often lead folks to feeling more invalidated than they did at the start of the journey. Working together we can develop an understanding of how experiences can impact identity. Feeling validated and heard are vital for support and healing. Through our work we can strive to move past internal barriers such as shame, and societal barriers  like transphobia and homophobia, and work towards living a authentic life.

My work has afforded me the privilege of working with Queer and Trans folks in both couples and individual settings.

Individuals

Working together one on one allows you to talk through situations and feelings that have caused you stress, anxiety or to experience the symptoms of trauma. Together we will work to create safety, allowing for this expression to flourish and in time, allow for the skills learned to be taken into other situations in your life.

Sex Addiction

Sex addiction is a disorder that is characterized by compulsive sexual behavior that can lead to negative consequences in a person’s life. It can be caused by a combination of biological, psychological, and social factors.

As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist – Supervisor, I have worked in both residential and induvial settings creating programs and supporting folks through this difficult journey. I utilize an integrated, client centered model to understand the barriers that folks struggling with these behaviours may have. Through our work we can unpack shame, work towards disclosure, learn to repair relationships, process traumatic experiences and strive towards recovery and healing. I work with partners, couples and induvials who have been impacted by these behaviours.
